Part-time Optometrist - Southampton

We are seeking a Part-time Optometrist to join our client’s dynamic team in Southampton. As an Optometrist, you will provide high-quality eye care services to a diverse patient base, performing eye exams, diagnosing visual impairments, and recommending corrective treatments. If you are committed to delivering excellent patient care and have a passion for advancing your knowledge in optometry, we encourage you to apply. Southampton is a vibrant city on the southern coast of England, known for its rich maritime history, thriving cultural scene, and excellent transport links, making it an ideal place to live and work.

Southampton has direct train services to London, Bristol, and beyond from Southampton Central station. The city is also accessible by car via the M27 and M3 motorways. Southampton Airport offers domestic and European flights, while local buses and coaches provide easy access around the city and to other regions. Additionally, the Port of Southampton is a major hub for cruise ships and ferries to the Isle of Wight and Europe.

  • Conduct comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages.

  • Diagnose and manage visual conditions and eye diseases.

  • Prescribe and fit corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses.

  • Counsel patients on eye health, safety, and vision care, providing recommendations for treatment and management.

  • Refer patients to specialists or surgeons for more advanced eye care when necessary.

  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in optometry, including new treatments, technologies, and standards of care.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in line with legal and professional requirements.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring patients feel valued and informed during their visits.

  • You’ll need to be registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient care.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
