As Optical Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for patients and you, will play a vital role in linking our patients with our professional staff.

Greeting patients, scheduling appointments, handling correspondence

Advising new contact lens wearers on lens care and handling.

Carrying out minor repairs and adjustments to spectacle frames, offering advice on frame styling as requested.

General admin

Ensuring the practice maintains good housekeeping, including merchandising displays, cleaning, and stock control.

Providing friendly, compassionate, and professional care to all patients, upholding the reputation of Haine & Smith.

You’ll have the chance to receive further training and progress to dispensing spectacles.

No previous optical experience is required – full training will be provided.

Strong background in customer service, with the ability to deliver care in a friendly, professional manner.

GCSEs (Grade C or above in core subjects preferred) or equivalent qualifications.

Confident in building rapport with patients and working collaboratively with practice teams.

Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to avoid jargon.

Commercial awareness, with attention to detail and self-motivation.

Teamworking skills, with the ability to lead and motivate when necessary.

A flexible approach to work, willing to cover shifts at other practices if required.

Professional, well-presented, and able to maintain discretion and tact in all situations.

Positive, outgoing attitude, always putting the customer first.
