Optical Assistant - Taunton

We are seeking a full-time, on-site experienced Optical Assistant to join a leading independent optometry practice. In this role, you will be an integral part of our client’s team. You will provide expert optical advice, assist with the dispensing of spectacles, and contribute to delivering outstanding customer service to ensure a positive experience for all patients.

  • Provide professional advice on eyewear options, including frame selection and lens types.

  • Dispense spectacles to patients according to their prescriptions, ensuring a high level of precision and accuracy.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring patient satisfaction and addressing any concerns or queries.

  • Assist in the fitting of spectacles, ensuring comfort and suitability for the patient.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest eyewear trends, advancements in eyecare technology, and new products.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and manage patient appointments as required.

  • Work closely with the optometrists and other team members to ensure the smooth running of the practice.

  • Contribute to a welcoming and professional environment for both staff and patients.

  • You’ll need strong dispensing optics skills and experience in the optical field.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to conduct comprehensive spectacle dispensing services with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and interact with patients of all ages.

  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of a wide variety of frames, lenses, and fittings.

  • Familiarity with the latest advancements in eyecare technology and products.
